Is yoga a one day festival?

History of yoga day

Narendra Modi proposed "Yoga Day" at the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014. On 11 December 2014, the General Assembly declared 21 June as International Day of Yoga or World Yoga Day. After that, June 21 is celebrated as "Yoga Day" across the world. Yoga Day is celebrated every year with some or the other theme. This year's theme is "Yoga for Humanity". The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga.

Bhagavad Gita is the most famous yogic text which mentions self-knowledge, "Karma Yoga" and knowledge.
